Item Description: TEMPERATURE TIPS, S-TYPE WITH BRANDED CARTRIDGE, 900 MM LONG PAPER TUBE. CLEAR INDICATION MARK FOR "S-TYPE" MUST BE PRESENT ON THE PAPER TUBE. DETAILS AS BELOW. 1. Nomenclature Expendable thermocouple (T/C) tips/probes complete with paper tube cardboard sleeve for measurement of molten steel temperature. 2. Element to be used & Characteristics, Make of the thermocouple sensor insert. Platinum / Rhodium (10%) Vs Platinum (Type-S) as per BS EN 60584-1, Part-1 (1996), complete with protective steel cap of minimum thickness 0.5 mm. Thermocouple insert/cartridge shall be from the manufacturer of international repute, having the required calibration/ testing facilities viz. Palladium bath etc. 3. Calibration & Accuracy Calibration as per IS-2055-1962/BS EN 60584-2 : 1993/ DIN 43710 based on ITS-90 temperature scale, with tolerance as per IEC 584- Class-2 :1989 The accuracy shall be 0 to + 4 °C at Pd. Melting point (1554 °C). 4. Wire Diameter Thermocouple element wire diameter shall be Minimum 0.05 +/- 0.005 mm. The same shall be certified by the OEM of the insert for each consignment. 5. Card board protection tube The thermocouple shall be fitted to a lap/parallel wound paper tube impregnated with heat resistant binding material of 18.0 +/- 0.2 mm ID with minimum paper tube thickness of 7 mm, which will fit on a steel pipe of 16 mm dia. Nominal paper tube lengths: 900 mm. 6. Compatibility of accessories The thermocouple tips shall be compatible with the standard accessories viz. contact blocks, front pipes, MI Cables etc. of Positherm tips of M/s HeraeusElectronite, Belgium.
