The United Nations (UN) Department of Operational Support (DOS) is seeking to establish a global system contract for the provision of rifle/carbine firearm for 5.56x45 NATO calibre to serve as duty firearm for UN Close Protection Officers and UN Security Officers worldwide.The Global System contract allowing all UN entities to place Purchase Order directly with the contract awarded Vendor (s) as per prices, terms and conditions stated in the final contract for the supply of rifle/carbine firearm will be awarded for an initial period of one (1) year with an option to extend for two additional 1-year periods (1+1+1) at the sole discretion of the UN and upon satisfactory performance of the contractor.The vendor shall provide Rifle/Carbine chambered for 5.56x45 NATO calibre, using short stroke piston gas operating system with a rotating bolt in short (subcompact), medium (carbine) and standard barrel lengths (rifle); with fully-auto and semi-auto firing modes; using 30 rounds M16/M4 style STANAG magazine; with ambidextrous safety selector, magazine release and non-reciprocating cocking handle; with foldable buttstock; with Mil_STD-1913 picatinny rails.The vendor must be able to obtain export licenses from the relevant government authorities in your manufacturing country to supply the proposed rifles/carbines to United Nations field missions in following locations: Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, Somalia, Libya, South Sudan, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Cong...
