Item Description: Carry out following refit routines on steering gear system by PAC firm/competent firm. (i) Visual check of coupling and seal on pump shaft. Renew seal on pump shaft, if oil found in the ducted lantern. (ii) Test setting of relief valves on maneuvering valves by operating hand levers for emergency operation. Open cock provided for connecting pressure gauge and record pressure reading when actuator is running against mechanical stop. Record idling pressure when the rudder is moving from hard over to hard over. Close gauge cocks after test to avoid wear of pressure gauge. Working pressure: 125 bar, TP: 234 bar. (iii) Check rotor vane seals. (iv) Renew frequency converters (v) Overhaul frequency controlled pump (FCP), Qty 04 Nos. Change mechanical seals and renews defective/worn out parts. (vi) Calibrate all gauges and renew defective gauges. Gauge range: 0-250 bar, Qty: 04 Nos., 0-145 PSI Qty: 01 No. (vii) Overhaul hand steering pump and performance to be proved. (viii) Renew hydraulic oil in the entire system after cleaning and flushing system. (ix) Check Hydraulic lock alarm on steering gear. (i) Steering gear stand by system operation and alarm check. Firm to carry job in association with PAC firm. Spares - CG supply.
