Item Description: Pistachio Specification Quality The Pistachio Kernels shall be obtained from sound, healthy and mature seeds of Pistacia vera L which has been sun dried and their shells opened naturally or mechanically. The product should be roasted and salted. The kernels shall be clean, free from discoloration, live larva of insect, insect fragments, mould and rodent contamination. The Kernels shall also be free from shell grits, rodent excreta and pieces of stones. The Kernels shall be of uniform natural colour with characteristic sweet taste and pleasant smell, free from any objectionable odour, mustiness and rancidity.
