HAEMOSTATIC NASAL PATCH . Specification of Hemostatic Nasal Patch. Ready to use fragme ntable sponge-based dressing as a temporary wound dressing in the Sino nasal cavity of surgery or trauma patients. It acts as a space occupying dressing. [1] Fragmentable, and biocompatible device. [2] Should be made up of natural & synthetic biopolymers and is a Polyelectrolyte complex (PEC) of biopolymers that bre aks down into CO 2, H 2 O, Lactate, Glycolate, Glucosamine, and Amino acid. [3] Provides compression at t he tissue site and resorbs naturally [4] Highly porous structure which provides high absorption capacity. [5] Soft and flexible and can be easily cut and folded. [6] Prevents adhesion by separating the compromised m ucosal surfaces. [7] Reduces fibrosis and adjunct to aid in the natural healing process. [8] Minimizes edema and slight bleeding. [9] No post-operative removal is required as it fragments uniformly within a few days. [ 10] Daily spraying with saline solution is recommended to accelerate the fragmentation process. [11] No kn own contraindications and adverse reactions. [12] Available in sizes 8cm x 2cm. [13] The product should b e stored at room temp. (25 degree C ).
