Item Description: 03 in Nos. Main Alternator (415V, 3Ph, 1200KW, Model 3512 B (except Alternator - 4) to be overhauled. Overhauling includes recording of insulation of stator, exciter and Main Field Winding prior to dismantling. Dismantle Alternator and withdraw rotating rectifier, main rotor and exciter from prime mover. Clean stator, Exciter and rotor with distilled water followed by trichloroethyl. Dry with hot air blower and apply thin layer of quick drying thermal conductivity varnish and bake up .Carry out heat resistive paint on internal and external parts of alternator Yoke. Carry out SPM test of DE/NDE bearing and renew defective DE/NDE bearing. Record insulation values of stator, Exciter and rotor winding with respect to phase to phase and phase to earth. Carry out functional checks of rotating rectifier and Space Heater on completion of overhauling. Carry out load trials with ship load and record as per trials protocol for optimum performance. Record of insulation and record of load trials to be handed over to Ship (Maintenance Schedule NO. LP-01) Material, heat resistant paint- firm supply. Firm to undertake Load test to be carried out as per ship-s load. firm to submit load trial reports. Spares and bearing - CG supply.
