Item Description: Boat should be capable of carrying three fully armed men with recce stores or a distributed load of 340 Kgs at a freeboard of 254mm The boat should extremely stable and suitable for use in moderately choppy water
Buoyancy The boat should consists of four buoyancy chambers if any two compartments are punctured, the boat will still retain sufficient buoyancy to support the crew of three provided that damaged compartments are on the opposite sides of the boat
Manual Propulsion The boat should be propelled manually by either one or two men the normal method of propulsion is one man rowing with a pair of folding wooden paddles a pair of rubber row-lock has to be provided on the hull to accommodate the paddles for rowing four wooden toggles to be provided on the hull and two on each side and a canvas seat with cane reinforcements is requested to be hooked on the toggles to provide a comfortable rowing seat
Fitting for stretcher Special strapping arrangements to be provided at the bow end of the boat for fitting a stretcher for evacuation of casualties speedily
Packages & Weights The boat and its accessories should weight 68 kgs In deflated condition and it should be packed in two canvas bags
Inflation One double nozzle foot pump to be provided with each boat for inflation and using one foot pump the boat can be inflated in about 7 min
Speed The boat should achieve the following average speed in still water with full load
(a) One man rowing 1.6m/sec (3.2 Knots)
(b) Two men paddling 1.7m/sec (3.4 Knots)

When propelled by two men the boat to make a head way in water currents upto 1.5m/sec (3.0 Knots)
