NS/1: Dewatering of natural or accumulated water from any location. Payment to be done, for Horse power of pump multiplied by pumping hours. The rates include the cost of purmping or bailing out water with the contractor's pump(s), tools, plants, fuel and labour etc complete. Note: (1) In case any work is to be executed in or under water and/or liquid mud/under foul position which reguires pumping out, the contractor shall deploy pump(s) of required capacity as directed by the Engineer. The payment under this item shall be permissible for the works which require pumping but the rates of pumping are not included in the item. (2) Whenever pumping out is ordered by the Engineer, a log book shall be maintained duly recording the capacity of the Pump(s) deployed and timing of starting and stopping of each pump to arrive at the number of hours for which the pump has worked. This log book has to be signed on daily basis by authorised representative of PMC and controctor till pump is deployed. (3) For payment purposes cumulative time in minutes for each capacity of pump is to be added and divided by 60 to arrive at the number of hours ignoring upto 0.5 hours and rounding off to one hour beyond 0.5 hour.
