Specification -
SPECIFICATION OF FIRE HOOK STANDARD IS 927 - 2008 The function of fire hook is to pierce celling to allow the water on the upper floor to drain away, to pull down thatched roofs or roofs made out of matting, pulling out bales and bags of various commodities from a distance, opening and closing down of doors and various similar jobs TECHNICAL FEATURES - Material shall Steel to be used for hook conform IS 2004 - 1978 - handle shall be made of bamboo of length not less than 3 m - The edges shall be well shaped and finished - Forgings shall be free from seams, burrs cracks and other surface defect - Hook shall be treated with suitable anti corrosive paint - Hook shall be engaged to horizontal bar and weight of 140kg shall be applied vertically to the handle .The test hall be repeated ten times .The hook shall not bend and or or dent during the test. - Standard IS 927 - 2008 MARKING Each hook shall be Cleary and permanently marked with the following information - Manufacturer s name or trade mark - Size of handle - Year of manufacture - Marked with standard mark NOTE - The equipment should be procured from the manufacturers - Manufacturer needs to have all test or evaluation facility in house failing which the test evaluation should got done from Govt. lab or Govt. approved NABL accredited lab only - PRE DISPATCH INSPECTION-PDI clause is mandatory and to be incorporated at the time of indent of above fire equipment. The CISF representative for inspection or PDI shall be detailed by Fire Directorate New Delhi
