On this page users can find tenders and eProcurement notices from various tendering authorities and private purchasers. The below list of Tendering Authorities consists of Government Departments, Public Service Undertakings (PSUs), Ministries, States government organizations, Directorates, Institutions and local bodies from India.
Bidders can download complete tender detail, BOQ, TOR etc through online tender search portal. The information on Indian Tenders, state govt tenders, railways tenders, banks tenders and defence tenders etc is sourced from various sources like newspapers and online tendering website of various organizations.
What is the “Tender by Authority” page on IndianTenders.in?
It’s an alphabetical index of government and public-sector authorities (municipalities, departments, PSUs, state bodies, academic institutes, etc.) with each authority’s live and recent tender notices aggregated in one place. The index (9829+ authorities) allows users to easily find tenders published by a specific issuing body.
How are authorities listed and grouped on the page?
Authorities are listed alphabetically. Each authority entry links to a dedicated authority page that shows active tenders, past tenders, award/result notices and meta details (location, department type, parent organization). We also tag authorities by type (Municipal, PWD, PSU, Railway, University, State Agency, Central Ministry etc.) for filtering.
What counts as an “authority”?
An authority is any official organisation that issues tenders - national ministries, state departments, municipal corporations, development authorities, PSUs (e.g., ports, railways), universities, hospitals and statutory bodies.
Why are there so many authorities (9,800+)?
India’s procurement ecosystem is highly decentralised: every district/municipal body, PSU depot, educational institute and statutory board can publish tenders. The large number reflects local-level authorities (wards, talukas, rural panchayats), state and central agencies.
Where does IndianTenders.in get the authority wise tender data from?
From official sources - state eProc portals, departmental tender pages, central portals (CPPP/GEM where applicable), railways, PSUs, municipal websites. Each authority page includes a link to the original issuing portal for verification.
How is the authority tender mapping verified?
Listings are human-verified and cross-checked automatically: we validate the authority name, tender reference number, NIT details and the issuing URL. If a mismatch or duplicate is detected, it is flagged for manual review.
How often is authority data refreshed?
High-activity portals are polled several times per day; lower activity authority sources are refreshed daily or on a scheduled cadence. The authority page shows a “last updated” timestamp for transparency.
What if an authority changes its name or merges?
We maintain authority aliases and redirect old authority pages to the new canonical entry. The authority page keeps historical metadata (previous names, merger notes) so past tenders stay discoverable.
How do I find tenders for a specific authority quickly?
Use the alphabet index, the authority search box (type part of the authority name), or apply filters (state, authority type). Each authority page also supports keyword search within its tenders.
Can I filter authorities by type or state?
Yes - filter by Authority Type (Municipal, PSUs, Railways, University, Central Ministry, State Dept) and by State / District to limit the list to relevant issuers.
How do I get notifications for tenders from a particular authority?
On an authority page you can click “Follow this Authority” to enable instant email/SMS/WhatsApp alerts for new tenders, corrigendum and award notices issued by that authority.
Can I subscribe to a group of authorities (e.g., all municipal corporations in a state)?
Yes, create a custom alert rule (e.g., Authority Type = Municipal + State = Maharashtra). We’ll push a combined digest or immediate alerts based on your preference.
What information is shown on an authority’s page?
Typical sections: Authority header (name, type, jurisdiction), Contact / official portal link, Live tenders, Upcoming tenders, Closed/Archived tenders, Contract awards, Stats (tenders published per year), Tags (e.g., roads, water, supply), and a “How IndianTenders helps” snippet.
Do authority pages show historical tender results or awards?
Yes, when the issuing authority publishes award notices we capture and display them under “Contract Awards” with winner name, value and award date (if posted publicly).
How do you show the trustworthiness of an authority listing?
We display source badges (official portal, PSU portal, GeM, Railway) and a verification status: Verified / Awaiting verification / Legacy source so users can quickly assess provenance.
If I find a tender on an authority page, do I still need to register on the authority’s portal?
Usually yes. IndianTenders.in aggregates and links to the original tender - but for downloading the official BOQ/NIT and for e-submission, you typically must register and use a DSC on the issuing authority’s portal.
Why does the authority page show tenders that require a DSC or local registration?
We surface the tender metadata and link to the original source. The tender detail clearly shows registration/DSC requirements and any local/vendor restrictions so bidders can prepare.
Does IndianTenders.in provide tender documents directly if the issuing portal is restricted?
Where the issuing authority allows public downloads, IndianTenders.in provides direct downloads. If the issuing portal requires registration, we provide the official download link and a step-by-step note on how to access documents.
I see duplicate authority names (slightly different). How do you handle duplicates?
Our system clusters authority name variants and human reviewers merge duplicates into a canonical authority entry. If you spot a duplicate, use the “Report Issue” link on the authority page and we’ll reconcile.
A tender on an authority page seems outdated or incorrect - how do I report it?
Click “Report an Issue” on the tender or authority page; include tender number and the problem. We prioritise issues flagged by users and correct or remove erroneous entries after verification.
Why do some authority pages show fewer tenders than expected?
Causes include: authority not publishing digital tenders, the portal is intermittently accessible, or authority uses PDF circulars only. We note such limitations on the authority page and provide an alternative contact or portal link.
Is there an API or data feed for authority-wise tender listings?
Yes, enterprise customers can request an Authority Feed API (REST/JSON) that returns live tenders, award notices and metadata per authority. Contact our Sales & Integration team for access, rate limits and pricing.
Can I bulk download authority lists or export tenders for analysis?
We provide CSV/Excel export for authority lists and for authority-specific tender tables (subject to licensing). Use the “Export” button on the authority index or schedule automated exports for enterprise accounts.
Can I integrate authority-specific alerts into my procurement system?
Yes - via webhooks or our API you can push new-tender events for selected authorities directly into your internal workflows or ERP.
Do authority pages show procurement rules and state-level exceptions?
Where relevant, yes. We display short notes about state procurement rules (e.g., MSME exemptions, local preference, EMD norms) and link to the authority’s tender conditions - however, bidders should always read the official NIT for binding terms.
How do you handle authority tenders that are also on GeM or CPPP?
We index duplicate listings but clearly tag the original source (GeM/CPPP). We also cross-link to the central portal to help bidders choose the correct channel for submission or procurement.
What microcopy should we show so users don’t get confused?
Add short guidance near the index:
• “Authority listings are aggregated from official portals - click the authority to view live tenders and the original source.”
• Show a “How to bid” quick-step (register on authority portal → verify DSC → download docs → submit online).
How to handle authority pages with low content?
Enrich pages with an authority description, jurisdiction map, popular tender categories, recent awards, contact info and “how IndianTenders helps” snippet - that reduces bounce and improves indexing.
Where can I get help if I can’t find tenders from a certain authority?
Use the “Contact / Report Missing Authority” link at the bottom of the index. Provide the official authority name and source URL (if available); our research team will add or verify the authority.
How do authorities request a correction or claim their authority page?
Authorities can request page ownership by contacting IndianTenders.in via the “Authority Claim” form. After verification (official email domain or letter), we allow authority-managed updates for contact info and profile.
